In the second package, we will utilize digital technologies (smartphones and actigraphy) to monitor loneliness and social isolation in the context of everyday life. We will use the method of Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA) to collect data in real time from participants several times a day in their natural environment. Based on the obtained data, risk factors will be identified at the individual level, particularly for individuals with mental illness and those from groups at higher risk of social disconnection. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to use Ecological Momentary Interventions (EMI) to support coping with stressful situations and self-development according to their own choices. Changes in loneliness and isolation will be related to physical activity, sleep, etc. A qualitative study is also planned in this work package, focusing on people’s lived experiences.
